Annabelle, the creation : UNTOLD

Last day, I happened to watch Annabelle, the creation. There are many misunderstood things, hidden in the movie. As the story goes...the little girl is killed in a road accident and the family invites a supernatural being, a deity into their family so that they can see their dead daughter again. When a supernatural being is invited to a family, he has to be worshiped with tantric rituals and in some cases blood sacrifices depending upon the 'sambrutaya' or tradition that is followed.  But, what happened in the story is that, they completely forgets the deity and so without his rituals and offerings, he turns negative and forces the family to give him his offerings and sacrifices.

WHAT ABOUT THE SO CALLED DEMON ?

The demon shown in the movie shares many features with the Vedic God Cernunnos. The overwhelming popularity of Cernunnos amongst most European Pagans, was of course, viewed as threat by those trying to promote Christianity — so much so that it is believed that Christians used the image of Cernunnos to create their Satan or to frighten the European populace away from the old religion. Satanists also distorted depictions of Cernunnos to create their Baphomet.

Certainly, at times, the Christian church has pointed to the Pagan following of Cernunnos as «devil worship». This is in part due to nineteenth century paintings of Satan which included large, ram-like horns much like those of Cernunnos. As Christian missionaries brought the new faith to the Celtic tribes, it would only be appropriate to associate any ancient pagan god with the devil. Because of his horns Cernunnos has often been misinterpreted by fundamentalists as a symbol of Satan.

" Believing in only one God and forsaking all others, Christians had a tendency to equate all pagan deities with demons "
