THE HOLDER OF THE THREE HEADED SPEAR
Lord Rudra is one among the
celebrated members of the divine trinity. He takes up the face of destruction.
Why should we worship the destroyer? He is said to living in the cremation
grounds along with the burning dead bodies , smearing ash all over his body.
How can he be GOD?
Why the DESTROYER ?
Rudra literally means the
"Howler" , vedas calls him the undefeatable archer and gives him the
most feared status among the Gods. Brahma ,Vishnu and Rudra are seen to be the
three faces of Paramathman. Brahma creates, Vishnu protects and Rudra destroys , this cycle
keeps on rotating. The things that is happening , that had happened and that is
going to happen, all these are pre written. Life is a drama written and
directed by the almighty. Time ( Kal) is the function with which this game
called life is programmed. At the end, time and all of creation is destroyed by
Rudra and he turns into Sadashiva and makes the system stable. He absorbs all
the energies and conserves it , in a yogic state and then dissolves into the
formless paramathaman in order to start the next creation. The creation started
from him and it ends in him. In physics, the law
of conservation of energy states
that the total energy of
an isolated system remains constant—it is said to be conserved over time, it
also states that the energy cannot be created or destroyed, but
only changed from one form into another or transferred from one object to
another.
Why is he called the Aadi Guru ?
Lets see what makes one a Guru...GU is Darkness and RU
is brightness like parvathi ma and Parameshwara . Mahadev gave his left part to
his wife Parvathi, making her his ardhankana. He gave left and not right half.
When Gu comes left, it represents theism and divinity that is it represents Deva
Guru,Brihaspathi .When Ru comes on left its Rugu which represents Asura guru,
Shukracharya.
Lord Rudra is seen in vedas as a fearsome archer, later
he comes down to earth leaving his furious form and takes a Yogic form as the
Aadi Yogi , Aadi Guru to teach the sages about Brahmajana and to teach them
about the unknown and divine. For the good of mankind, he taught the science of
Yoga to the ancient rishis who passed on this knowledge to the rest of
humanity. All yogic and tantric systems consider him as the first Guru. These
teachings have come down to us in the form of Agama Sastras. From these
teachings, came various traditions which still exist. One of them is the
Nava-Nath Tradition founded by Matsyendranath, Gorakshnath and the seven other
Gurus of the Nath Tradition, which is still prevalent mostly in North India.
Some consider Gorakshnath as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. In the South, it was
the Siddha Agastiar or Agastya Muni, who disseminated this knowledge and
created a lineage of Siddhas who specialized in Yoga, Tantra, Medicine,
Astrology and other sciences. The tradition of 18 Siddhars is well known in
South India.
Dakshinamurthy
is an aspect of the Hindu god Shiva as a guru (teacher) of all types of
knowledge (jnana). This aspect of Shiva is his personification as the supreme
or the ultimate awareness, understanding and knowledge. This form represents
Shiva as a teacher of yoga, music, and wisdom, and giving exposition on the
shastras.
He holds the three heads spear called the thrishul. The
puranas call it the ultimate weapon of all times. The three heads of the spear
represents the three Gunas, namely Sattva , Raja and Tamo. When a thrishul is
plunged into the chest of a person, it skillfully cuts the Liver, heart and
lungs at the same time. By holding the
three Gunas, Rudra is as Saguna. In some context he is also talked about as a
Nirguna. It is the nothingness, which is... whatever is made is made from
nothingness and when the material gets
destroyed it comes back into the same nothingness. Only if we understand
Darkness, we will understand light. He sits in the cremation grounds which is
the end of life at the same time the starting of a new life. He sits not as part
of the audience or the crew but he sits between the stage and the preparation
room. He wrote, directed and executed the play and now who is acting it ? Its
him.
What is the difference between a drop of water falling
on a huge ocean and the water in the ocean in essence, both are made of 2 atoms
of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen. All living beings have soul in them, soul
is formed from the supreme soul ( Brahman ). If Brahman ( GOD ) is macroscope ,
we, the creation is microscopic form of the same. If we understand what an atom
is we understand the secrets of the universe, if we understand the micro, we
understand the macro...If we understand what is in us, We understand that the
creation and its creator are not different.
Enjoy the Oneness which is beyond religion, caste, sex
, colour, race etc...
