Tirupparankunram Murugan Temple

Image
Tirupparankunram Murugan Temple is a Hindu temple and one of the Six Abodes of Murugan, located at Tirupparankunram. The temple offers a mystic beauty; is carved in rock and is monstrous in size for such an architecture. According to the legend it is where Murugan married Deivayanai, the divine daughter of the king of heaven, Indra, and he is said to have worshipped Shiva here as Parangirinathar. I left for the temple after visiting the majestic Madurai Meenakshi temple. It was a great experience watching Devi Meenakshi in all her glory along with the Sabarimala pilgrims. Our crew rested for the day in a near by hotel and woke up the next day to see Tirupparankunram Murugan. The morning breakfast was made fast wit bread and butter and a glass of milk. From there we went straight to the temple. As we entered I saw Lord Bhairav with numerous lamps burning in front of him.  Moving on with offering for Lord Murugan we got a friend , who guided us into the temp

Daitya King Sukesa was married to Gandharva princess, Manimaya and had three sons with her: Malyavantha, Sumali, and Mali. The three brothers performed a great penance and had boons from Bramha Deva. The Great Sculptor Architect of Daityas’ namely Maya (Mayasur) built Swarna Lanka for the three. The 3 brothers settle in Lanka and started invading all the three Lokas and harassing people. Then Devaganas along with their King Indra went to Lord Siva seeking his help. Lord Siva directed them to Lord Vishnu and then Vishnu came for the rescue of all the three Lokas. He killed Mali with his Sudarashana Chakra. Afraid of Vishnu, Sumali and Malyavanth left Lanka and ran to Pathala Lok. Then Kubera, the son of Vishwavasu took the control of Lanka and started living there. Kubera   Suketu, a yaksha king performed tapasya for an offspring. HOW CAN WE UNITE THE RELIGIONS OF INDIA?

Image
To do this we can list out the characteristics or basic believe system of the three major religions we have in our country. First of all let us consider Islam and Hinduism.  Islam  is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion, founded by  Prophet Muhammad     in the Middle East in the 7th century CE.  Hinduism  on the other hand is religious tradition that originated in the Indian subcontinent in the pre-classical era and does not have a specific founder. Hinduism, as we see now was not a religion but a way of life followed by the people of Bharath and now due to competition from foreign religion they have formed under a common roof called "Sanadhana Dharma" ( Hinduism). Islam believes that God ( Allah ) is formless,  Ninety nine names and attributes of Allah (God) who is infinite supreme, Sublimely one, all are dependent on him yet he depends on none. Self sufficient. without beginning and without end, and there is nothing comparable to him. As we look into hindu holy texts we see

KALI PURUSHA

Image
SATAN / KALI PURUSHA / LUCIFER To find the origin of Lucifer, we turn to the Old Testament. In the Hebrew, the name Lucifer is translated from the Hebrew word "helel," which means brightness. This designation, referring to Lucifer, is the rendering of the "morning star" or "star of the morning" or "bright star" which is presented in Isaiah. "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit on the mount of assembly on the heights of Zaphon; I will ascend to the tops of the clouds, I will make myself like the Most High’" ( Isaiah 14:12-14 ).  Lucifer is just another name for Satan, who as head of the evil world-system is the real, though invisible, power behind the successive rulers of Tyre, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, and all of those evil rulers

It is an auspicious month and Lord Shiva is worshiped widely in various ways. But for Mohammed Zahir this is just another month. He is the caretaker of Lord Shiva temple in Khandwa, Indore. He takes care of the temple with the same enthusiasm as for the Dargah round the year. From dawn to dusk he takes care of the temple, from cleaning the periphery of the temple to the core of it, that is, the ‘Lingam’. Religions have never been an obstacle to his services. He believes that Allah, God, Bhagwan all are one, but our way of thinking makes them different. He hails from Asirgarh twenty kilometer away from Burhanpur near ‘Asirgarh’ fort in MP. He has been offering his services

Does Egyptian Myths support the Water myth ?

Osiris was an Egyptian god, usually identified as the god of the afterlife, the underworld and the dead. He was classically depicted as a green-skinned man with a pharaoh's beard, partially mummy-wrapped at the legs, wearing a distinctive crown with two large ostrich feathers at either side, and holding a symbolic crook and flail. Plutarch recounts one version of the myth in which Set (Osiris' brother), along with the Queen of Ethiopia, conspired with 72 accomplices to plot the assassination of Osiris. Set fooled Osiris into getting into a box, which Set then shut, sealed with lead, and threw into the Nile (sarcophagi were based on[citation needed] the box in this myth). Osiris' wife, Isis, searched for his remains until she finally found him embedded in a tamarind tree trunk, which was holding up the roof of a palace in Byblos on the Phoenician coast. She managed to remove the coffin and open it, but Osiris was already dead. In one version of the myth, she used a

Kerala has mainly two rainy seasons. The Southwest Monsoon that arrives in the month of June is called Edavappathy, as it comes in the middle of the month of Edavam on the Malayalam Calendar. People from around the world come here to see the Sky loving the Land. "Love is in land and air the sky is kissing the land with his rain and thunder" We have many Gods that maintain rain, thunder, storm etc in vedas. Lord Indra, Lord Dyaus ( Zeus ), Lord Prajana ( Perkūnas/ sometimes identified with Thor), Maruths etc. Rain is a process managed by large amount of Gods so its not a small process. Mid October witnesses the arrival of the Northeast Monsoon.
