The Greatest Hunter

Later, as advised by Vyasa, Arjuna went to the Himalayas to practise austerities for the purpose of getting new weapons from the devas. Arjuna took leave of his brothers and went to Panchali to bid her farewell. She said: "O Dhananjaya, may you  prosper in your mission. May God give you all that Kuntidevi hoped and wished for when you were born. The happiness, life,  honor and prosperity of us all depend on you. Return after acquiring new weapons." Arjuna passed through dense forests and reached the mountain of Indrakila, where he met an old  brahmana. The ascetic smiled and spoke affectionately to Arjuna: "Child, you are clad in armor and carry weapons. Who are you? Weapons are of no use here. What do you seek in this garb of a kshatriya in this abode of ascetics and saints who have conquered anger and passion?"  That was Indra, the king of gods, who came to have the pleasure of meeting his son. How do you Visualize Lord Shankara

Image
Different people see Mahadev in different views. Some visualize him as a person with long beard, hair and ash smeared all over his body sitting in front of a hundred dead bodies and mediating. To some others even thinking so about their God is a sin. They see him as a handsome yogi with well built body sitting on top of Mount Kailash with his beautiful wife, Ma Parvathi.  Mahadev or Shiva as we know is a God with lots of mysteries, he is cosmic at the same time material. The cosmic form of Mahadev is seen as Shiva who is beyond the Trinity and the material appearance is Lord Rudra ( Shankara ) who is part of the trinity along with Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. "The Visualization of Mahadev in ones mind is a reflection of his consciousness as Shiv is the factor of consciousness in all man" See only a person who likes to have muscles and a person interested in body building will love to draw a picture like above. It has Mahadev with long beautiful beard ...

It is said that what one sees when one first opens one's eyes on Vishu morning is an indication of what one can expect in the year to come. Thus on Vishu, effort is made to assure one opens one's eyes before an auspicious image—the Vishukkani. While the festival is called "Vishu" only in Kerala, across India festivals sharing the same spirit—such as Ugadhi in Andhra Pradesh and in Karnataka, Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, Bihu in Assam and Baisakhi in Punjab—are celebrated around the same time of year. Lord Vishnu, the preserver of creation, is the aspect of the Paramatman that is focused upon during Vishu. In jyotish, Indian astrology, Vishnu is seen as the head of Kaala Purusha, the God of Time. As Vishu marks the first day of the Zodiac New Year, it is an appropriate time to offer oblations to Lord Vishnu. But the general ide...
